Junior Activities BRYC Policies
  1. General Registration is January 15th-April 15th.  All registrations received after April 15th will incur a $100 fee per class (New members joining the club after the late registration deadline will be given an exception).
  2. Your BRYC Account will be billed on April 30, 2019 for all Junior Activities classes.
  3. Changes can be made to registrations until June 1, 2019.  After that date changes will only be considered for medical issues.
  4. Registration is for the entire 8 weeks; there are no reduced fees for missed weeks.
  5. Sailors in Opti Level 1 & 2, Feva, Laser & 420 are expected to provide their own boat and dollie/trailer (the club does have 2 - 420’s and 1 Laser available to rent) for the 8 week program.  Please contact JA Chair Erin Morris (ja@blackrockyc.org) or our JA Sail Chair Dan Lent (dlent@cantorcolburn.com).  Craig’s list, the JAS of LIS boat board (http://jsalis.org/jsa-member-classifieds) and fellow members are all excellent resources. The Boat Locker in Bridgeport also provides rentals.
  6. Inclement weather policies:
    • Sail – Opti, Feva, Laser and 420 sail is a rain or shine activity. Salty Dogs & Salty Opti will be canceled in extreme weather (notification will be given via text or the BRYC app).
    • Tennis – If there is thunder and lightning or the courts are “puddling” the clinic or team practice will be canceled. Notification will be given via text or the BRYC app.  If possible, make-ups will be scheduled for the week of August 19th.
    • Swim/Dive – The pool will be closed during thunder and lightning storms and if the bottom of the pool is no longer visible.  Notification will be given via text or the BRYC app.
  7. As per club policy, all children under the age of 13 must have a parent or caregiver at the club to meet them after an activity or during lunch.
  8. Junior members are expected to follow all club rules.  Please review the section on junior members with your child before the beginning on the season (BRYC Yacht Club Rules).  Multiple violations of club rules could result in removal from activities without refund.
